Do you guys remember those Medieval Times commercials? As a kid I dreamed of one day being the queen of the castle . Well guys I finally made it and the jousting is even more incredible then I imagined. My husband and I decided to choose Medieval Times as a perfect family fun destination to celebrate the end of the school year. Thanks to Medieval times for hosting us and if you keep reading Ill have the instructions on how you can score some tickets of your own!
Medieval Times is a dinner show with an exciting tournament that takes place in a huge castle . It’s a show with horses, a falcons and of course jousting. The castle opens up 75 minutes before the show. Before you even enter the castle you are randomly assigned a team color which I will talk about later. If you get there earlier you will be able to explore the inside of the building which is decorated royally, with painted ceilings, and suits of armor. Other cool things to do is Meet the queen herself and also visit to Museum of Torture $2/entrance. The Queen was in the throne area, calling out people’s names who were celebrating a birthday or special occasion. For an extra cost you can pose with the Queen for a photo.
Once you get inside its breath taking! You get called in to your seats by team color and escorted to your designated area. What great is that there are no bad seats in the house. Each row is set up high enough that you have a good view. Medieval Times makes sure everyone is comfortable with a great view.
Now to my favorite part the grub! Just FYI, it’s a utensil free meal so you can eat as the knights did back then (unless you choose the vegetarian option). The food was amazing! The fist course was a Tomato Bisque Soup, which was scrumptious and served with garlic bread. Next was their famous oven roasted chicken which was so was juicy and flavorful. I must add at Medieval Times they are very generous with food plus there’s free refills. For dessert coffee and pound cake were served.
The show was a amazing. This is where those random team colors come in play. You cheer and scream for your team. The horses first start off doing tricks with fancy footwork. They also have a falconer who lets the falcon loose as he flies in patterns based on the falconer’s waving flag. It was so awesome to have our team win!! Both my older and younger kids were so pumped to have had their team win.
